Lake Coeur d'Alene Maternity Photoshoot - The Tapecs + One

This was an absolutely unreal maternity photoshoot on Lake Coeur d’Alene, largely thanks to Hannah (not me, the mama featured here!) and her willingness to hike out to this epic spot at 35 weeks pregnant. Oh and here’s the real fun part – it was mid July and probably 90 degrees. I promise I don’t try to torture my clients 😉
She had a beautiful glow thanks to a mixture of pregnancy and sweat from the walk, hehe. I’m so appreciative when my clients fully trust the vision and commit to getting the good photos. Luckily this didn’t put her into labor and she delivered a healthy baby girl a month later!

We planned her outfit for a lonnnng time before this shoot – we wanted to find the perfect outfit that would show her belly off, was white, linen, and flowy. We found the perfect fit on Forever 21 of all places and I couldn’t be happier with the result!

Why we Chose Lake Coeur d'Alene

When we were first talking about the shoot and putting mood boards together, Hannah sent me a photo of a pregnant woman running on a beach with a beautiful linen skirt & shirt set. We knew right then & there that this was the perfect vibe for the shoot and wanted to recreate that as best as we could. Only thing is….we live in the INW and there’s not an ocean beach within 300 miles of us! I knew our best (& probably only) shot was going to be Lake Coeur d’Alene. The only thing is…it was mid-July and I knew the beaches that were close to NIC or a parking lot were going to be absolutely packed. I knew about this little beach on Tubbs Hill and presented her with the idea. She was totally down and had the “Anything for the shot” mentality. Fuck yeah.

She is the embodiment of a Goddess Earth Mother and I just love each and every photo so much.

PLEASE NOTE: some images on this page have a white dot covering their daughter’s face – this is to preserve her privacy online.

Enjoy! Xoxo, Hannah

If you’re pregnant, you need pregnancy photos. There is one time (with each kid) where the miracle of life bears witness to the world in a woman’s body. Everyone has their own story.
And I love documenting people’s stories.
